Simply COOL for a cool smile

At TCN, every child (aged 0 to 18) can sign up for the "Gewoon GAAF" campaign by the Ivoren Kruis (and other health insurers also participate). As part of this campaign, every child receives a free Philips Sonicare Kids toothbrush as a gift*. In return, the child is expected to visit the practice at least 4 times a year to have their oral hygiene assessed and, if possible, improved.

If a family is larger, we provide one brush per two children.

Also available with other health insurance policies

This offer is therefore also available if you have joined an organization other than Ivoren Kruis. The overarching goal is to give everyone a chance at healthy teeth and maintaining them.

For every child between 0 and 18 years old

Gewoon GAAF is a prevention method for every individual child aged 0 to 18 and their parents/guardians. The dentist or dental hygienist provides the parent and child with advice tailored to the child's teeth. They guide the child in having and maintaining healthy teeth. With Gewoon GAAF, the dentist or dental hygienist performs a risk assessment. How well do the parent and child care for the child's teeth? What is the state of their oral hygiene? Are teeth or molars erupting? Is the child losing their baby teeth? Does the child have (early) cavities? Based on this risk assessment, the dentist determines when they want to see the child (or their parent) back at the dental practice. Sometimes they will provide extra protection for the molars (sealing) or administer a fluoride treatment. However, these treatments are usually not necessary. Therefore, the implementation and execution of the prevention method can vary within a family. After all, Gewoon GAAF looks at each individual.

Out scientific research In the Netherlands (Dr. Erik Vermaire 2013), it appears that the Gewoon GAAF method can lead to fewer cavities up to 70%.
