If a prosthesis is made immediately after teeth and molars are extracted, we call this an immediate prosthesis. This is almost fully reimbursed for every patient through basic health insurance. Our own dental technician can fully customize your prosthesis to your wishes. You will walk out of the treatment chair with your prosthesis in your mouth immediately after the procedure. After a few weeks to 2 months, a new layer (rebasing) is needed to compensate for the extreme shrinkage of your jawbone. After a year, a decision is made as to whether you are still satisfied with your prosthesis or if a new prosthesis is required because the jawbone has shrunk too much and the immediate prosthesis has become too thick and heavy as a result. It is possible that we will then order a snap-on denture for you, for which your basic health insurance covers almost the entire cost.
