At TCN Dental Practices, we attach great importance to openness and transparency in our care provision. As of this year, new regulations are coming into effect that apply to dental treatments. For treatments with a reimbursement of more than €500,- We are required to provide you with a written quotation. For your acceptance, this can be done via email or, if you prefer, in the form of a signature on paper.
This change has been implemented to ensure that you, as a patient, are fully informed of the costs of your treatments. For treatments with costs above the €250,- There was already an obligation to provide a price quotation based on verbal agreement; however, the new regulation offers even more clarity and reduces the risk of misunderstandings. For some treatments, technical costs apply. These are activities that the dentist outsources to a dental laboratory. The dentist lists these technical costs separately on the bill.

What does your insurance cover?
Insurers determine the reimbursements for dental care in their (supplementary) insurance policies. Some insurers offer sum-insured policies. This means that all costs up to a certain amount are reimbursed. Other insurers apply a maximum reimbursement per treatment. This means that if a dentist charges more than the maximum reimbursement, you, as the patient, must pay the difference. This may also apply to basic care.

Anesthesia treatments?
The costs of general anesthesia are usually not eligible for reimbursement. The anesthesia dentist reduces the full level of general anesthesia of €500,- euro to €290,- euros per hour (or €145,- per half hour) by taking anesthesia in-house. Recovery costs per half hour are €75,- euro.
